Those post-Holiday Blues

It looks like the fanfare of The Holidays of late 2022 have come and gone; the tree tossed out, the ornaments and decor put away for another eleven months or so. Even if you are not a celebrant of one of the major religious holidays during December, the glow they give off is palpable. Gift giving, cooking/baking, and anticipation that keeps us on the edge or maybe even stressed for the month of December and into the New Year give our adrenal system a real workout! Now the parties and social gatherings have subsided and life as we live it goes back to its day to day mundanity.
Sigh.

But please don’t fret, dear friends. Going back into our daily routine is actually good for us and this January we have been given the opportunity to slow down and discover what we next want to concentrate on, this in the form of Mercury in retrograde. I’m not going to talk a whole lot about astrology as it’s not my area of expertise but I know that as in intuitive I can feel the energy of that phenomenon say, “Act deliberately.” And what a great time for it. The astrologers tell me that this is when manifestation is ripe for opportunity so make your wishes known and start working toward 2023 goals.

Even when it seems as though fitting all that needs to be done into each day is like a snake eating its own tail, try to make time to journal, meditate, or have enough alone time in quiet to be able to connect with your inner self. If you have blues or depressive periods that last more than a week please seek proper mental health channels, what I’m talking about is taking measures to get balanced to the norm for you for this season. If you know that S.A.D. is a factor for you grab one of those light therapy lamps - they work! And sometimes talking it through can have be tremendously helpful, let’s lift each other up when we can. My hope for you is a prosperous and fulfilling New Year.
