platonic therapeutic touch

What is platonic therapeutic touch?

Also known as holistic or therapeutic cuddling,

is the practice of non-sexual

touch and cuddling, which can be combined with conversation, listening, and communication.

Platonic touch is proven to release oxytocin- the feel good hormone in the brain which helps us to feel better by lowering levels of cortisol- the stress hormone.

Studies have found

platonic touch and affection such as hugging, cuddling, holding hands, etc. can greatly improve our mood, relieve physical pain, while reducing stress and anxiety.

requesting a session

  • REQUEST a consultation by clicking above.

  • I will then text or email you to arrange a phone call for a few minutes before setting our appointment (for new clients). This lets us know if we are a good match and eases us into our new adventure!

After two hours the rate goes down to $100 per hour. After three hours a package deal can be applied to be cost effective, same with overnight sessions.

90 minute Beginner Special ~ $150

Ask me about this while booking, it’s a great first-time session!

  1. My schedule is generally 8am – 8pm, but I can offer alternative times that will work with your schedule. Oftentimes I get requests for same day appointments; this is not usually practical but I will try to accommodate when I can.

  2. In-person visits are at my office located in Los Angeles’ San Gabriel Valley and I am open to meeting in alternative places for regular clients. I am sensitive to strong scents so please *do not wear cologne or perfume* ~ thank you!

COVID-19 protocols for in-person sessions: I am fully vaxxed and double boosted and I hope that you are, too. If not, let’s talk about how I can accommodate you while keeping myself and my other clients safe. I clean and sanitize my space between clients, have a buffer of one hour between in-person clients while my air purifier works constantly, and I change linens if any are used during sessions. Surfaces are disinfected and I keep hand sanitizer and COVID rapid tests on hand if needed. I will most likely be masked, if you are comfortable doing so that’s awesome and if not, let’s talk about it. PLEASE DO NOT KEEP AN IN-PERSON APPOINTMENT WITH ME IF YOU HAVE ANY SYMPTOMS OF ILLNESS such as cough, fever, lightheadedness, fatigue, chills, shortness of breath, body aches, sore throat, nausea. I promise to do the same. Please disclose any medical conditions that I should know about when we talk, I promise confidentiality.

  3. Virtual sessions via Google Meets or FaceTime and phone sessions are available! We can turn any session into friend hangs, co-working, chatting, or body doubling for productivity sessions. *For regular clients, depending on our comfort level with each other and safety considerations, in-person overnight sessions may be possible.

  4. My standards are set by the Cuddlist Code of Conduct because it covers everything that I want to impart to my clients as far as what a cuddle session looks like. My parent company is the standard for me in consent and boundaries. Please read them over and we will discuss them a bit on our phone call. I am happy to be your guide and no question is off limits or too personal. Then onto the cuddling! We will go at your direction and pace so I suggest a 90 minute session for the first time. This is not an attempt to upsell, in my experience 60 minutes goes by too fast to get really settled and comfortable for the first time.

Note: no touch is required, your boundaries are honored in this safe space.

(While I do offer outcalls as an option I will need the proper safety and monetary conditions to be met for this service on a case by case basis, my same rate for travel time applies.)

**24 HOUR CANCELLATION POLICY**

Please give me at least 24 hours notice if you have to cancel. If you cancel within less than 24 hours or do not show up I will still charge for the session. Thank you for understanding.

A long time proponent of cuddling, I can see the toll that touch hunger takes on our lives. We don’t always get our needs for affection met by our loved ones and that’s ok! There is no shame in receiving professional help. In fact it shows a commitment to a high level of self-care. People have always been drawn to me for hugs and holding ever since I can remember. Indulge in the self-care of a therapeutic touch session with me and feel the stresses of the day melt away in warm embrace.

the benefits

  • enhance mood

Platonic touch can be deeply relaxing, relieving stress, and feelings of social isolation.

  • sooth anxiety and depression

Promotes feelings of comfort and well-being while lowering levels of Cortisol our stress hormone.

  • increase trust and self-reliance

Increases our feelings of social connection, comfort, and well-being while inspiring positive thinking and trust.

  • relieve physical pain

Helps block feelings of physical pain by stimulating Oxytocin production which can block pain signals to the brain.

  • build self esteem

Increases feelings of comfort, solace, and compassion which creates a feeling of positive self-perception. Touch helps us feel welcomed, accepted, and at ease.

  • improve immunity

Boosts our immune system, lowers blood pressure, and can improve the quality of sleep.

  • lowers stress

Physical touch lowers level of the stress hormone cortisol. This is the fight or flight hormone that also contributes to anxiety and stress when overactive. So, just touching other human beings keeps cortisol from building up and causing people to have crippling anxiety, depression, and other misalignments of mood.

  • enhance mood

Touch is comforting. When someone gives us a hug, or a reassuring pat on the shoulder we feel comforted because touch stimulates the production of Oxytocin our “feel good” hormone. Oxytocin also boosts serotonin and dopamine our “happy” hormones. So naturally, a therapeutic cuddle session may help improve your mood by lowering stress and anxiety, while increasing feelings of comfort, safety, and well-being.

  • relieve physical pain

Oxytocin also helps decrease our sensitivity to pain by helping block pain signals from the brain. Cuddling can also improve our immunity since serotonin production boosts our immune system. Therapeutic cuddle therapy has also been linked to an improvement in sleep, and digestion.
